Choosing and Fitting... Bidets
Bidets are no longer very popular, but they are a useful addition to a larger bathroom, giving a balanced look to other sanitary ware. Apart for their obvious use in washing the ‘nether regions’, I know some people use them for washing their hair, rather than using a basin or having to fill the bath.
Nowadays bidets are almost invariably ‘over rim’ versions as the ‘douche’ ascending spray versions can create problems with ‘back siphonage’ contaminating your water supply. Basically they are fitted in the same way as a basin, using the same size pipe work. One point to consider is if you want to use it effectively is ‘knee room’, as you would normally be facing the wall when using it.
